Impregnating textiles in 5 simple steps

With Chemona’s user-friendly textile coatings, you can easily make your fabrics water-repellent, dirt-resistant and UV-resistant. Follow these steps and enjoy sustainable protection:

1. Prepare

Check your textiles for dirt, stains or other irregularities. Make sure the textiles are completely clean and dry. Any remaining dirt can reduce the adhesion of the coating, so clean it thoroughly before you start.

2. Cleaning

Use a specially developed textile cleaner, such as Chemona’s No. 1 Textile Cleaner or Power Cleaner, to remove dirt and grease. Avoid standard cleaners such as green soap, which leave a greasy layer. Allow the textile to dry completely after cleaning.

3. Choose the right coating

Chemona’s PFAS-free textile coatings are suitable for all types of textiles, such as natural fibres (cotton, linen), synthetic fibres (polyester, nylon) and mixed fabrics. Choose our universal coating for durable and effective protection.

4. Apply

Apply the coating evenly with a spray, roller or brush. Work in overlapping strokes to ensure that all parts of the fabric are well covered. Make sure that you work in a well-ventilated area.

5. Let it dry

Allow the coating to soak in and dry according to the instructions on the packaging. During drying, the textile should not be exposed to moisture or dirt. After complete drying, your textile is optimally protected.

Within a few hours you will enjoy water-repellent, dirt-resistant and UV-resistant textiles that will last for years!
